STUTTGART, Germany ? Daimler AG is giving gearheads an opportunity to help design the automaker's new Facebook game, GreenSight City.

The urban-planning simulation game, jointly developed by Daimler and Zone 2 Connect GmbH, focuses on mobility, renewable energy sources and innovative technologies. The goal is to develop a desirable "green" metropolis from a small city, luring tourists with innovative architecture and attractions while avoiding environmental pollution.

Gamers have a month to submit multiple sketches ? or scribbles, as the site calls them ? of buildings or attractions they wish to see integrated in the game under the "Scribble Action" tab.

Site visitors also may evaluate the other participants' entries. The three drawings with the greatest number of positive Facebook appraisals will be added in the game. The winners will be announced December 10, with the game going online December 15.

Fittingly, the transportation aspect of the game plays an important role in the fun. Players must meet the increasing traffic requirements of the growing city while being mindful of the city's infrastructure and pollution. Players may choose carpooling, using e-bikes, electric vehicles and various public transportation services including bus, rail and plane. One of the biggest challenges is organizing the tourists' arrival and departure using the available mobility concepts.

Daimler is hosting the game to communicate to young buyers how urban mobility and technology are a part of the company's social fabric.

Inside Line says: Sounds like a green twist on SimCity.
