Find Apps for a Facebook Page: 3 Sources

Here are 3 ways to find apps for a Facebook page, just in case you have had trouble locating them.

What are apps? ?As background, Facebook pages have built-in features like the ability to upload photos that?cumulative?in a photo tab. ?You can add other tab links (that list of links down the left in the screenshot above) using Facebook-approved applications, or ?apps.?

But where do you find the one you need to integrate your email software or add polls or sell on Facebook?

1. ?Facebook Search

You can find apps for a Facebook page using Facebook?s search box. ?Be sure you are using Facebook as your profile, not your page. (Apparently they are connected to profiles and not pages.) If you are logged in as your page, you will have to go back to your profile before you can add the app.

Check the screenshot above for a sample search for an ecommerce app. ?Type in your search term and when you get results, go down the list of tabs on the left and click Apps. ?This filters results by those with an Add to Page link, and eliminates Facebook fan pages for those apps. Investigate the alternatives, the number of subscribers using each, and their costs.

2. ?Third Party App Directories

App directories like AppsBistro allow you to find apps for a Facebook page by type. ?Their site says:

Say you use Constant Contact email software and you want to integrate events listings or add an email signup tab to your Facebook page. ?You can find apps for a Facebook page by searching the help section of your software to learn about authorized options. ?For example, I searched ?help? in the Constant Contact email software in the screenshot above and found, among others, a way to add events to a Facebook business page.
